General Manager: Kevin Christian

Few leaders embody the spirit of Grand quite like Kevin Christian. After nearly four decades with the company, Kevin has seen the furniture industry evolve. All the while, keeping the same focus that has always mattered most: people.
For Kevin, the most rewarding part of the job is building a team that feels like family.
“It is my goal to ensure our team realizes they will succeed when our customers get what they want. Sales numbers matter, but seeing our store succeed together, pushing each other, and celebrating wins… that’s the real reward.”
Under Kevin’s leadership, the Lynchburg store has developed a culture where teamwork and customer care go hand in hand.
Fun Fact: Kevin is a diehard fan of the Washington Redskins, classic country legend George Jones, and wrestling icon Ric Flair. Kevin was born and raised in Lynchburg and went to Heritage High School. Soon after, he started working at Grand Home Furnishings at the age of 18.
Store Manager: Jennifer Claytor

Working alongside Kevin is Store Manager Jennifer Claytor, whose passion for helping customers create beautiful homes has shaped nearly two decades of service at Grand.
Jennifer enjoys helping customers visualize how furniture fits into their lives, while also coaching and supporting her team.
“Helping customers create homes they love and celebrating when our team exceeds goals together is the best part of the job.”
Fun Fact: Jennifer is also a Redskins fan and loves taking cruises, spending time with family, and enjoying life with her dogs.
Together, Kevin and Jennifer lead a team that reflects the values on which Grand has built its reputation: service, trust, and teamwork.
A Team Built on Experience
The Lynchburg team includes several long-tenured associates who have helped make the store a trusted destination for generations of customers.
One standout is Tina McFadden, the store’s Office Manager, who has been part of the Grand family for 31 years. Her dedication and experience help keep the store running smoothly every day.
Another key team member is Josh Ornelas, Dock Supervisor. If something happens in the Lynchburg store, there’s a good chance Josh is involved. Josh’s connection with Grand started as a teenager, handing out Cokes to customers, continuing a tradition that began in Lynchburg. Today, he plays an important role in the store's operations and logistics.
The team's longevity and dedication are part of what customers notice when they visit the showroom.
A Grand Tradition Started in Lynchburg
Lynchburg holds a special place in Grand’s history. In 1953, Grand opened in Lynchburg on Main Street. To celebrate the grand opening of its fourth store, founder George Cartledge Sr. had a simple but memorable idea to welcome customers with a refreshing soft drink.
Cases of Coca-Cola in the classic 6½-ounce glass bottles were handed out as shoppers entered the store. The response was incredible. More than 14,000 bottles of Coke were given away, and the crowds were so large that Main Street had to be closed to accommodate the traffic.
While the tradition of handing out Cokes eventually came to an end during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the spirit behind it still lives on today at Grand. That’s why when you come to Grand, you will be greeted and welcomed in, just as you would be when visiting someone’s home.
A Store with History
The Lynchburg location has proudly served the community for 73 years, making it one of the oldest of Grand Home Furnishings’ 18 stores.
The building itself has a few unique features. Positioned at one of the highest points in the “Hill City,” it is the only Grand location to feature a weathervane. It also includes an elevator connecting multiple showroom levels, a feature that makes the shopping experience a little different from that at most furniture stores.
From its historic traditions to its experienced staff, the Lynchburg location has become a fixture in the community.
Giving Back to the Lynchburg Community
Being part of Lynchburg means more than simply doing business here. The store team actively supports several local organizations and charities, including:

- Hunters for the Hungry
- Peacemakers of Lynchburg

One of the team’s favorite annual events is the Hunters for the Hungry Golf Tournament, which raises funds to help feed families across the region. The store also participates in the Lynchburg Humane Society’s yearly donation efforts, helping support programs that save and care for animals in the community.
As Kevin explains, community involvement is essential to building lasting relationships.
