I've already talked about why Tempur-Pedic and Sealy are among the best mattress brands. Today, I'm sharing why I think Serta is one of the best mattress brands, as well.
One thing I really like about Serta is that they’ve always been an innovator in the bedding industry. For instance, their iComfort line kind of launched the idea that other mattresses besides Tempur-Pedic could be in the foam bedding business.
That really was the starting point for where we are in the bedding industry today. Another Serta foam mattress innovation was making a gel infused foam and turning it into a talked about and looked for product.
A Leader in Adjustable Bedding
They also really brought the idea of adjustable bedding into the mainstream. They helped educate the public on the benefits of an adjustable base, which is sometimes called a lifestyle base. The benefits start with being able to put yourself in a zero gravity position where you elevate your legs and your head a little bit. This lets your muscles relax; it takes the tension off your body. That lets your body do the healing work while you’re in bed. Instead of your body having to hold itself together, it actually gets to fully relax and you get the most recuperative sleep. This is especially important for those who experience lower back pain or neck and shoulder pain. Today, they continue to innovate, bringing features and benefits into both their high end iComfort line and their everyday value Perfect Sleeper line for us. In fact, we’re about to launch a new series from Serta that are basically what used to be the thousand-dollar mattresses, now available at a much lower price point.

They also make exclusive products just for Grand’s customers, like our two-sided Perfect Sleeper mattress. Most brands don’t carry two-sided mattresses anymore because the modern product is made to be more of a single-sided product. But a lot of our customers still want a mattress with this feature. It allows them to flip it, rotate it and get an extended life out of their mattress. We asked Serta to continue to manufacture it for us so we still have that opportunity to service customers who want to have that feature. Serta agreed to do that for us and now we’re the only retailer in the area that have this two-sided mattress available.
