Tree #1: The Candy Land Tree | Beckley, WV

The candy-land Christmas tree stood in the corner as it had tiptoed out of a sugary daydream, all frosted branches and peppermint swirls. Gumdrop ornaments clung to the boughs as if they’d grown there overnight, sparkling like tiny jelly jewels whenever the lights blinked, and somehow, every time someone walked by, the whole tree smelled faintly of warm sugar and childhood secrets, like it was hiding the promise of a magical candy adventure just waiting to happen.

Tree #2: The Ginger Land Tree | Harrisonburg, VA

This year, we decided to surprise the children! When you enter the store, the main thing you spot is a giant Christmas tree at the end of the aisle. As you get closer, the vision of Gingerbread men comes to life! Red, green, and white bulbs accent the candy pieces in the tree. Gingerbread people, big and small, dance throughout the tree. Standing beside the tree is "Ginger land".Our handmade 3-1/2 foot by 8-foot-long gingerbread house. The Ginger Family welcomes kids big and small to play within their home. The candy entrance makes it super inviting as they walk through. In the next room, they can keep warm next to the "fireplace" while rocking in the rocking chair! As they finish their trip through "Ginger land, they now have the opportunity to play the fun game of spot the differences. The ginger people are all made differently on the tree. From the eyes to the buttons on their shirts, each unique personality truly shows!

Tree #7: The Winter Wonderland Tree | Waynesboro, VA

When you enter our store in Waynesboro, you will immediately see our "Winter Wonderland" all around. Our giant tree is wrapped in white tinsel garland, with silver jingle bells and snowflakes of many sizes. Woodland animals, such as white owls and red cardinals, sit perched throughout the tree. Snow-covered pinecones and red shiny ornaments make the tree come alive. Underneath the tree, there's a bed of snow and silver wrapped presents that create the magic of Christmas. If you get close enough and peek inside the branches, you'll see someone in the mirror smiling back at you. Our Winter Wonderland is finished with a large white bow and silver ribbon.

Tree #8: The Postcards to Santa Tree | Charlottesville, VA

We went with a "Postcards to Santa" theme. This will be our first year with a Santa here for photos, so we thought it was appropriate to have a tree dedicated to Santa. Santa will be here Saturday, Dec 13th, to greet the kids and take pictures with them if they like.

Tree #9: The Lasso the Moon Tree | Winchester, VA

"EVERYTIME A BELL RINGS, AN ANGEL GETS HIS WINGS!" "It's A Wonderful Life" is THE quintessential Christmas movie. This year, we decided to celebrate George lassoing the moon for Mary. Instead of Jimmy Stewart, we used our fearless leader, George Cartledge III's likeness, to give our tree a bit more grandeur!

Handmade angels, movie-scene ornaments, bells, and colored lights all harken back to the 1940s. Tinsel graces the end of the branches to add that extra twinkle. I can see it sitting in the Bailey living room as George, Mary, and the kids celebrate with their neighbors, and Charlie gets his wings!

Tree #10: The Mother Nature Tree | Christiansburg, VA

The connection between Mother Nature and Christmas is rooted in the Holiday's pre-Christian origins, celebrating the return of light and life during the winter solstice, a connection still reflected in evergreen trees, holly, and other natural decorations. This ancient, nature-based reverence for the Earth's cycles provides a foundation for Christian Christmas traditions, transforming natural symbols into representations of hope, renewal, and eternal life.

Tree #11: The Cookie Monster Tree | Wise, VA

At Christmastime, Cookie Monster becomes even more excited than usual because everywhere he goes, he can smell fresh cookies baking for the holidays. Children giggle as they help decorate gingerbread men and sprinkle sugar on warm treats, knowing that their fuzzy blue friend might pop in at any moment to shout, "Me want cookie!" Together, the kids and the Cookie Monster share the magic of the season. Tree #13: The Royal Christmas Tree | Roanoke, VA (Valley View)

A Royal Christmas is a celebration of elegance, tradition, and meaning, brought to life through rich purple and gold décor. These regal colors create a warm, opulent atmosphere that feels both grand and inviting. Whether displayed in a palace or a cozy home, purple and gold transform the holiday into a magical experience that honors tradition, beauty, and the joy of the season.

Purple symbolizes royalty, dignity, and reflection, carrying special significance during Advent as a time of anticipation and spiritual preparation. Gold represents kingship, divinity, and the gift of the Magi, honoring the birth of Christ. Together, these colors unite reverence and celebration, filling the space with a sense of majesty, hope, and timeless holiday spirit.

Tree #15: The Spirit of Christmas Past Tree | Martinsburg, WV

It feels like those times when, as a child, you would smell the fresh baked treats in the kitchen and hear the never-ending loop of "The Christmas Story" coming from the tv in the corner of the living room.
The glow of the tree illuminated the gifts below and you could almost feel the magic in the air.
The carols on the radio sing of Santa and his reindeer on the rooftops of homes as you gather around the table with your family and celebrate the time you have together. The snow you watched fall, coming down under the stars. The snowman that came to life. Rudolph's glowing red nose. A train to the North Pole. It's that peace. The magic. It's the Christmas spirit.
